Maintenance Instruction For Basketballs

It is impossible to sit down on a beefy basketball and to strike blows to it with legs as soccer, from it it very quickly gets out of a shape and becomes useless!

It is necessary to pump up a ball as follows: apply 1-2 drops of special oil on an opening of the nipple or a needle, take a ball for the panel where there is a nipple, insert into it a needle, pump up a ball to value of pressure specified in the drawing around valve hole with special pump. We insistently advise to use oil, it not only prevents damage of the valve and walls of the nipple at penetration of a needle, but also does nipple material to more elastic, protects it from drying. In the absence of oil moisten a needle or the nipple with saliva, but do not use the lubricant substances which are not intended for inflating of balls at all, such substances may contain the active components destroying nipple material. The needle also has to be special, suitable for inflating of balls, at the end of a needle have to be equal, smooth, without keen edges and agnails.

Attention, always use the greasing substances for valve hole or a needle, otherwise you risk to damage the valve itself and to be left without ball as it will start leaking air fast!

The recommended pressure sizes for balls from various materials and various sizes, keep in mind that this is just a recommendation type of numbers, each model has exact pressure requirements:

Basketball Type & Size Pressure (BAR) Pressure (PSI)
Rubber basketballs at 5,6,7 size 0.48 – 0.62 7 – 9
Rubber basketball at 3 size 0.41 6
Natural or composite leather, size 7 0.48 – 0.62 7 – 9
Natural or composite leather, size 6 and 5 0.48 – 0.55 7 – 8

It is always recommended to check pressure in balls by means of the manometer. Pumping of a ball creates the elevated pressure and the excessive stretching loads of materials of which the ball is made, considerably reducing the term of its service, and also negatively influences game characteristics of a ball, first of all its rebound.

Instruction of using and storage

  1. After each game it is necessary to wipe a ball with damp fabric. In case of strong pollution use the fabric moistened in warm soap, do not apply abrasive cleaners, and also the means containing solvent or other aggressive substances at all.
  2. Let’s a ball dry in the natural way if a ball very wet, then previously wipe it dry soft fabric. Dry balls in well aired place, far from heat sources, at a temperature of +20-25 °C and humidity of 60-65%. Avoid influence of direct sunshine and you do not dry a ball nearby and on the surface of heating devices at all. Long influence of dirt, moisture, the increased temperatures lead to deterioration in physical properties of a ball, and, as a result, its game characteristics, to reduction of service life.
  3. It is recommended to store balls in the dry aired place at a temperature from +5 °C (23.0 °F) to +25 °C (77.0 °F) and relative humidity of air of 50-80%. Balls have to be protected from hard hit of direct sunshine, influence of vapors, gases and chemicals.
  4. Balls from synthetic and composite leather should be kept and transported in a beefy state. Otherwise deformation of material and flaking of panels is possible.

Following to the above-stated simple rules will allow to keep for a long life of your ball and to avoid difficulties at return of goods on a guarantee not because of a manufacturing defect, and because of violation of service conditions!
